Our Story…
Modern Witches honors and celebrates the multicultural and multivalent ways the witch expresses themselves within our society.
Through spiritual education, community building experiences, and curated events, Modern Witches strives to cultivate a radical, liberatory, diverse, and inclusive magical community of beings who believe in healing futures and in the crucial role witches play in healthy societies. Our organization started off as a dream to bring a diverse and radical group of magical beings together. Founded in 2018 by Casey Zabala, it all started with a Confluence gathering in San Francisco, complete with a craft fair featuring witch-owned businesses, and magical presentations from famous witches and a keynote address from Starhawk. The event has continued to evolve since then, and has expanded its offers into the virtual realm. As our community grows, we remain a community rooted in authentic spirituality, radical education, and social justice. We believe that the archetype of the witch holds power and potential for healing the planetary crisis we currently face. Together we are exploring and revolutionizing how we embody our magic. Join us in deepening our understanding of who we are as magical beings, and as a powerful collective force.

Modern Witches Vision
Through events, educational content, and community we aim to heal and honor the collective’s relationship to the witch. Witches are our teachers, wise ones, brujx, mentors, herbalists, empaths, storytellers, and weavers of the world. Witches help us tap into our innate powers, and through community, they guide us closer to collective healing.
The Modern Witches community is creating a sacred container for those witch-curious, witch-identifying, and magically minded to authentically connect and learn. Our community includes seekers, astrologers, healers, shape-shifters, mystics, artists, activists, and more. What makes our community so radiant is the diversity of spiritual paths that are practiced and honored here, each with respect and reverence.

OUR CIRCLE KNOWS THAT SPIRITUALITY AND THE FIGHT FOR RACIAL JUSTICE AND EQUITY ARE INTERCONNECTED.

WE DO NOT SUPPORT THOSE WHOSE LIVES AND BELIEFS ARE GROUNDED IN HATE AND DIVISION.
WE HOLD ANTI-RACIST, ANTI-FASCIST EXPECTATIONS FOR OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
WE ARE COLLECTIVELY WORKING FOR THE LIBERATION OF BIPOC FROM SYSTEMIC RACISM AND OPPRESSION.
WE ARE CASTING SPELLS FOR PEACE, RADICAL LOVE, RADICAL ACCEPTANCE, AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
