About The Living Altar
The Living Altar is the project of multimedia ritual artists Kiki Robinson and Ylva Mara Radziszewski; a growing resource for the Community Witch. As queer, gender non-binary, femme witches and descendants of the Romani diaspora, we dedicate our work to a faithless devotion of collective liberation. We view the work of the modern Witch to disrupt and dismantle the oppressive systems born of Kyriarchy.

I am a traditional witch, published author, artist, and herbalist. I am also a non-binary trans femme and a survivor of childhood incest and sexual assault. I currently live on unceded Duwamish and Coast Salish land, now named Seattle. I’m a white person of Slavic, Balkan, and Romani ancestry. My ritual and art practice are intrinsically woven together; I believe that magic is art and that art is healing. Through art as ritual I attempt to explore and ground my experience living within diaspora as someone who also lives with CPTSD, Autism, and chronic illness.

The facade and glamours of kyriarchy are crumbling. Now is the time of The Community Witch whose magic has always been political and subversive; whose altar tends the work of ritual resistance and magical activism. Through our relationship with the spirits, our ancestors, and the elements we arrive to this critical juncture well resourced with a renaissance of magic; emboldened by the cunning of modernity and rooted in the power of community.
