THE LUNAR NODES
WANT TO BETTER UNDERSTAND YOUR MISSION OF INCARNATION?
LOOK AT YOUR KARMIC POINT- THE LUNAR NODES
An incarnation mission is a path of exploration that we choose when we are born. Everyone has their own mission, and in astrology, it is expressed through the Lunar Nodes: the North Node and the South Node. The North and South Nodes inform us about our predispositions, what we have to work on during our lifetime.
Known as Ketu, or the dragon's tail in Vedic astrology, the South Node represents both an asset and a limitation in Astrology. The South Node is a comfortable pattern that we rely on because it works so well for us, but it may also prevent us from growing spiritually. Like any point in our natal chart it must be honored properly, which means accepting the gift of the South Node in appropriate moderation. The challenges arise if we hide in our South Nodes and resist growth opportunities in order to feel safe. The South Node is a place to retreat to in times of need, but it is not the place to stay, energetically speaking.
Known as Rahu, the head of the dragon, in Vedic Astrology, The North Node represents dharma, what you must move toward in this lifetime for your spiritual growth. The placement of the North Node illuminates a lesson, requiring effort and discomfort to achieve. Each time you get closer to experiencing your North Node, you grow and become more soul aligned. Activating the North Node is like trying a food you don't think you’ll like, and upon tasting it you realize that you actually love it.
In astrology, the South Node and the North Node are defined through their opposition. The South Node represents our karmic heritage and our past lives, while the North Node is related to our karmic evolution in this life.
