A strong intention is the first step towards realizing + working with magick in your life. Intention has become a buzzword in some spiritual communities. So why are we all collectively focused on this idea?

Intention is the energy you invest into all your actions; it is what consciously motivates you. Intention is acting with integrity. An intention is a seed of personal truth, that blossoms into authentic experience of being. Intention works on very personal levels, and also on the collective scale. Words like intention have become so popular because of our collective admiration and desire for a more intentional relationship with ourselves and with the world around us. Intention is the focus of our consciousness.

Intention is a quintessential magical tool that isn’t made of earth, fire, air, or water. Intention is a tool of the spirit. Without intention within our spiritual practices we can feel lost, disconnected, aimless. An intention can serve as a compass through which we navigate relationships, choices, and dark places. When working with intentions we are able to maintain a living thread of free will, which consciously evolves over time.

Intention can be thought of as a type of love. Loving ourselves and others involves care and compassion. When working intentionally, we are operating from a more conscious and caring perspective. We want our intention to work through us, which takes attention and nourishment. These are loving ways of being. Working with intention is working with love.

This April, we’ll be exploring all the ways we can set intentions. We’ll talk about intentions for self-care and being tender with ourselves, as well as intentions that are difficult to commit to. Some intentions may need reworking to be more realistic, more specific... We will dig into all the ways we can set intention with magic and witchcraft.
