It is known that the moon has been one of the symbols for inner growth, feminine energy and intuition. We used the cycle of the moon to track time, to celebrate different holidays and to invoke deities related to the archetype of the moon. It is deeply anchored in the collective unconscious. It links to magick, intuition, spirit and the unseen world. Many cultures throughout time have had lunar deities–that is, gods or goddesses associated with the power and energy of the Moon. If you're doing a moon-related ritual, you may choose to call upon one of these deities for assistance.

Greek mythology comprises stories of god and goddesses, heroes and war, rituals… whose influence was widely felt in their everyday life and made a big impact on art, literature, music, culture….

Selene (luna – Roman) is the personification of the Moon and often depicted wearing a crescent Moon on her head, riding her chariot. She was worshipped New Moon and Full Moon

Artemis (Diana – Roman), closely associated with the Full Moon ( her brother Helios was the Sun God. She is connected to hunt, Nature, and childbirth.

Hecate, goddess of the waning and dark Moons is often depicted carrying a torch.

In Chinese mythology, Chang'e is the goddess of the moon, she sacrificed herself to save her people - in Aztec the moon goddess was Coyolxauhqui, for the Egyptian; it was Isis, this powerful intuitive and widely worshipped goddess represented the moon. For the Pagan and the Celtic , we have Arianrhod « silver wheel » people looked to her for fertility issues as well as rebirth... And the list is really long and fascinating as these powerful stories of goddesses and gods can shape and advise those who follow their rituals.

In astrology, the moon in your natal chart represents our emotion and our inner child. Your Moon Sign describes your instinctive or emotional energies, and your innate reactions, « tell me where your moon is and I will tell you who you really are “ However, the transit of the moon can describe your mood and in which mental state you are. The lunar cycle is a great way to manifest and to express yourself in the real world. As the moon is waxing and winning we grow our intention or let go of what needs to be released in the world.

Following the lunation of the Moon, Full Moon and New Moon, is a great start to know how we can evolve and improve in the area of life we desire. Each of these lunations fall into a different area of your life. Each year we have a chance to set intentions (new moon) and to release (full moon) in an specific area of our life (relationship, works, communciation….)

For example, this upcoming New Moon in Pisces, depending on your sun sign and ascendant, this lunation will fall on a certain area of your life , maybe your relationship, your job, or your finance. Following these cycles can give you some clues of what intentions you can set and focus on. Same for the Full Moon, it will give you some insight or guidance on what you need to adjust, reclaim, release or finish.

Finally another tool you can do during those lunations is to work as a 6 month period and per by sign. For example the new moon in Pisces on the 13th of march will be a great time to set your intention. During Virgo season when we will have a full moon in Pisces - September 20th - you can review how your intention from the New Moon in Pisces back in March - grow, develop and what steps you put in place. This is the time to harvest and to readjust if needed.

Don’t hesitate to comment and ask questions. I will be happy to respond and bring guidance on your journey.

Hope this will help you
