Spell for Balance

This month, punctuated by the Spring Equinox, is so full of growth and letting go. Our collective energetic focus is on balance - what it is and how to achieve it. As the Equinox celebrates the balance of day and night, we are asked to take inventory of our inner and outer worlds, to notice what is taking up the most space, and where we might make room for new roots to take hold.

Balance can feel like a totally abstract concept, yet it can also  be a practical art of weighing what serves you against what drains your energy away. In our modern world we are programmed to produce and grow on an endless loop, but the cyclical laws of Nature inspire us to grow, harvest, compost, and lay fallow. Our lives are filled with peaks and valleys, times for rest and times for creation. True balance is making space for the quiet as well as the unbridled excitement.

Reflect back on your Winter season; where was your energetic focus?

Are you feeling ready to shift into Spring?

What type of transition is going to feel the most supportive to you, as we move into the exuberance of Spring?

In reflecting on how to achieve greater balance in your life, make a list of all the polarities you hold within and around you. Through polarity we find wholeness. Think: introvert and extrovert, conscious self and unconscious self, tame mind versus wild mind. These aspects of ourselves are vital to our spiritual natures. When in balance, we are properly honoring all multifaceted fractals of our being.

Once you have your list, focus on the aspect that you’d like to call into greater balance. Let’s focus on our tame mind versus our wild mind as an example. Tame mind seeks order, while a wild mind likes to be surprised.

Attach a symbolic action to tame mind. May this action honor the rightful wisdom of tame mind. For example: waking up at the same time every.

Attach a symbolic action to wild mind. May this action honor the rightful wisdom of wild mind. For example: howling, stretching, dancing everyday as part of your waking-up routine.

By committing to balancing and honoring the polarity of tame mind and wild mind within you, you are calling on those energetic powers to support you in your rebalancing after the Winter months. These symbolic actions are an reinvigoration of spirit as you transition into Spring.

We’d love to hear from you! What are you actively seeking to balance in your life at this seasonal shift?
