DOROTHY R. SANTOS
BIO
Dorothy R. Santos is equally fascinated and perplexed by new media and digital art, basically art made with computers and machines. She should not be confused for someone who actually knows how to use technology. She loves working with and writing about artists, making art, and writing sci-fi fantasy stories. Her writing can be found in Hyperallergic, Ars Technica, Vice Motherboard, and Art in America. Outside of her academic and professional work, she loves burning candles, moon ceremonies, hanging out with her familiar (aka Noelle the cat) and reading tarot for her loved ones and the community.
WORKSHOP
Welcoming Lineage and Honoring Kinship:
Helen and Dorothy lead a discussion on how aspects of our ancestral, diasporic, and chosen lineages show up in our respective spiritual and magical practices, and how our relationships to lineage have shifted over time. Together, we will guide participants in a hands-on workshop to thoughtfully research, integrate, and remix in meaningful, reciprocal relationship with your own lineages and histories, toward expanding and evolving your rituals, practices, and traditions beyond the commodified and culturally appropriative. (We would love to give priority to QT/BIPOC/disabled witches, but open to all
